Summary

I've been working in the tech industry, professionally, since 1996. I've held mostly backend positions, working on architecture, API design, scalability, database work, and devops.

I've also been an engineering manager at several jobs, plus a few Director level roles.

Most of my career has had a common theme of training those around me, including a 4-year position as a software instructor, and working "developer relations" / "developer advocacy" roles, doing public speaking, workshops, and technical content creation.

My favorite kind of tech job: working at a company whose product helps other developers make great things or monetize what they do.
